VERIFIED OFFICIAL FACTS

Combat weapon facts versus cosmetic names

Official gameplay material confirms Musashi's close-range swordplay, parries, defensive maneuvers and special attacks. The edition listing separately names multiple sword appearances. An appearance changes how Musashi's sword looks; Capcom explicitly says it does not alter battle performance.

ParryGrid therefore does not count cosmetic names as separate damage-tested weapons. A complete weapon database will require final-game move sets, upgrade paths and repeatable measurements rather than storefront bundle names alone.

How to change appearance

Capcom directs players to Change Appearance in the Spirit Mirror menu. Spirit Mirrors and the Change Appearance option unlock through progression, so the menu may not exist at the beginning even when the add-on content is installed.

  • Verify ownership of the relevant edition or preorder bonus
  • Progress until a Spirit Mirror and Change Appearance unlock
  • Open the Spirit Mirror menu
  • Select Change Appearance
  • Do not expect the skin to change damage, timing or other combat performance

How future weapon rankings will be tested

A real weapon ranking needs the same enemy, difficulty, upgrade state and combat condition. The evaluation should include direct damage, stagger or defensive utility, startup, recovery, resource cost and safety. Until those data exist, this page provides a source-backed catalog boundary rather than a fabricated tier list.
