FIELD GUIDE 03 / RE:ZERO INCREMENTAL

Choose a build around the problem in front of you.

A practical way to combine available options, compare the tradeoffs, and decide what deserves your next investment.

What is holding your run back?

Select the closest problem. The chooser suggests what to compare next; it does not calculate damage or prescribe hidden stat ratios.

Survival trial

Pair an accessible attack option with equipment whose tooltip explicitly improves a defensive outcome. Compare whether you finish the same encounter more consistently.

Clear-time trial

Keep a setup that already survives. Change one damage-related item or skill, using only the effects and requirements shown in your game. Compare successful clear times.

Skill-availability trial

Keep your core attack. If a tooltip displays a resource, cooldown, or activation requirement, pair it with an option that explicitly supports that requirement. Check whether the skill is available more often.

Know what the family names establish

The developer listing names Magic, Weapons, Authorities, and Divine Protections as skill families. Their presence does not establish how every skill scales or stacks.

WeaponsRequired equipment and the exact effect text.Universal weapon rankings and stat scaling.
MagicAny displayed cost, target rule, or activation condition.Best elements, damage coefficients, and resistance tables.
AuthoritiesThe unlock requirement and every stated tradeoff.Loop scaling and combinations that multiply one another.
Divine ProtectionsConditions, limits, and whether the effect is currently active.Stacking rules, acquisition odds, and a defensible tier order.

These checks are reading prompts, not claims that every skill uses each mechanic. Your current tooltip decides which questions apply.

A useful A/B comparison

  1. Save a baseline.

Note the game update, encounter, current gear, trained stats, and chosen skills. Call this setup A.

  2. Change one component.

Call the new setup B. Keep the same enemy and difficulty, and avoid changing companions, consumables, or other variables during the comparison.

  3. Repeat both setups.

Use several attempts and write down wins, health remaining, and clear time where visible. Separate a misplayed attempt from a clean one. A single lucky hit is weak evidence.

  4. Choose for your goal.

A setup with faster successful clears can still be a poor farming choice if it loses often. Prefer the option that improves the bottleneck you set out to solve.

What would justify a stronger recommendation?

A named “best build” needs a current unlock path, complete tooltips, repeatable comparisons against alternatives, and a clear target activity. Farming, first clears, and group encounters can reward different choices.

For now, exact stat allocations, drop rates, summon odds, rebirth multipliers, and named meta combinations remain unverified. A future update to this guide should add the evidence alongside any recommendation, including conditions where it stops working.

If the game receives a balance update, repeat the comparison before treating an older result as current.
