OFFICIAL PATCH RECORD
The Steam demo is offline
One More Level announced that the Valor Mortis Steam demo would be removed on September 8, 2026. The official store page no longer lists a demo download, so ParryGrid now records that scheduled shutdown as completed. The studio says the public demo no longer represents the launch build's quality and polish.
- Last official demo availability date: September 8, 2026
- Full-game release remains October 13, 2026
- The shutdown notice applied to the Steam demo
- The announcement did not promise continued access after removal
OFFICIAL PATCH RECORD
Chapter I and Chapter VII are bespoke demo slices
Although the demo labels its levels Chapter I and Chapter VII, the developer says they are custom versions rebuilt for Steam Next Fest. They should not be treated as complete final-game chapters or used to infer the launch game's exact sequence, balance, optimization or bug state.
- Demo chapter labels are presentation labels for bespoke slices
- Full-game optimization improvements are not being backported wholesale to the demo
- Final balancing and bug fixes may differ
- Demo performance should not be published as a final benchmark
OFFICIAL PATCH RECORD
General Lothaire moves to the end of Chapter II
The demo places General Lothaire at the end of its Chapter I slice, after roughly 30 minutes of first-person combat practice. One More Level says the full game instead positions him at the end of Chapter II, after players have had more time to learn the mechanics and level William.
- Demo placement: end of the Chapter I slice
- Full-game placement: end of Chapter II
- The studio expects the later placement and added progression to smooth the difficulty curve
- No exact launch-build health or damage values are published in this update
OFFICIAL PATCH RECORD
What not to carry into launch guides
- Do not label demo hotfix 1.03 as the launch patch
- Do not assume demo save data transfers without an official statement
- Do not publish demo chapter order as the final campaign order
- Do not turn the developer's smoother-curve expectation into an unsupported difficulty score
- Recheck final PC requirements because the storefront still labels the current figures as demo specifications
