OFFICIAL PATCH RECORD

How to enable Adaptive Difficulty

Install the September 5 update, then open Game > Game Settings > Adaptive Difficulty. The option is experimental, disabled by default and can be turned on or off at any time. The official notes do not require a new save or a separate item.

  • Open Game
  • Choose Game Settings
  • Find Adaptive Difficulty
  • Toggle the option on or off

OFFICIAL PATCH RECORD

What changes when you keep winning

When enabled, successful encounter clears without dying can raise enemy damage, health and break resistance. The official note says this increase can continue beyond the hardest level in the game's original balance while the winning pattern continues.

OFFICIAL PATCH RECORD

What changes when you are struggling

Deaths can reduce the same three enemy values. The system also caps a single attack so it cannot remove more than a set fraction of a full health bar. The developer does not publish the exact fraction, thresholds or adjustment formula, so ParryGrid does not invent them.

OFFICIAL PATCH RECORD

Night Mode is the exception

Adaptive Difficulty may increase Night Mode difficulty, but it does not apply the downward adjustments there. Night Mode therefore cannot be made easier by this system, even when the same performance pattern would reduce enemy strength in standard play.

Experimental limits and testing advice

  • The initial version has no on-screen indicator when values change
  • Adjustments ease back toward standard balance over time
  • No achievement or trophy effect is stated in the official announcement
  • Disable the option for controlled weapon, build or boss comparisons
  • Record the setting and date when reporting balance results

The official September 5 announcement does not state an achievement or trophy restriction, so ParryGrid does not claim one.
