The confirmed respec process
- Update Mortal Shell II to the Week 1 build or later
- Obtain Mether's Severance
- Bring the item to Zhirelle, the Shell keeper
- Ask her to sever the bond with the selected Shell
- Receive back all Glimpses spent on that Shell

What the reset changes
The official notes explicitly say that the chosen Shell is reset and all Glimpses spent on it are returned. They do not say that weapon upgrades, inventory, quest progress or unrelated Shells are reset, so those systems should not be folded into the claim.

Why launch guides are stale
Mether's Severance was added in the Week 1 Update. Advice published for the launch build may therefore describe Shell investment as permanent or omit Zhirelle's new service entirely.
